I’ve been trying to balance a lot of things in the past month; household chores, parenting, full time career, blogging etc….  My return to work last month couldn’t have come at a busier time.  Holiday shopping is full throttle right now and we are extremely busy at work.  It’s great for sales since we are averaging 30% more than last year, but it’s killer on the feet.

There are things that I can’t put as much focus on and other things that I’m behind in, mostly laundry.

I’ve been telling myself that if I just make it through December and the rush of Christmas, I’ll be in a lot better position come January.  Though I haven’t gotten it perfect yet, I’m happy with the way it’s worked out.  All the priorities are covered.  So I thought.

I woke up this morning and started preparing for my day.  I was preparing my breakfast and coffee (of course) which I always have before waking up the kids.   I turned on my computer to read my emails while eating when the date flashed across the screen,

“December 16th”

Why does that date sound important?

forgot I almost missed a Big One

Then I realized what it was.  It’s Hubby’s birthday today.   I was so busy balancing everything, trying to be a great Parent, that I forgot about my role as a Wife.

One of the important rules:  Do not forget Husband’s Birthday

Worst thing is I didn’t prepare but I will have to be creative.  He really deserves to have a great Birthday.  He always supports me in everything I do.   I’ll be planning the night out all day while at work.  Making this day special, is my number one priority today.
