You don’t need to pick the same topic as I do.
I have been getting a little frustrated this past week every time I go into a public bathroom. With the increased volume of traffic coming into the department store I work in, the bathrooms seem to not be able to stay clean for very long. We have 12 stalls in the women’s bathroom and today, I walked in and out of 8 of them before I found one I could walk into. The bathrooms had just been cleaned less than 2 hours prior.
So I’ve created a list of Public Bathroom Etiquette:
- Number ONE RULE! FLUSH! FLUSH! FLUSH! No one cares to see what your body no longer needs. If it’s a question of not wanting to touch the handle, use a tissue or your foot. Just Flush.
- Women, if you are going to Squat, clean up after yourself. It’s not fair for others who have to tip toe around your mess.
- Do not leave the toilet paper on the seat. No one wants to touch it after you’re done.
- Why some people do this, I do not know, but if your hands are dirty, don’t wipe it on the door.
- Don’t leave evidence of your menstrual cycle around. Keep that to yourself.
- Turn off the faucet when your done.
- Wash your hands…. a simple practice.
- Do not leave your baby’s soiled diaper inside a boot in the shoe department. Take the extra 5 minutes to find a garbage bin, or better yet, take it away. No one wants to be forced to smell your baby’s waste for the rest of the day. “Actually happened”.

I actually have nightmares about public restrooms. They are so gross! I try to avoid them as much as possible (not so easy with kids).

Ewww someone left a dirty diaper inside of a boot? That’s so nasty! I hope those boots weren’t left up for sale. If they were, I feel bad for the person who bought them. =/
I really dread public restrooms. Im afraid i’ll get UTI from it. I have seen poster regarding CR etiquette in the restroom at work “Sit like a Queen during the entire performance. This is a toilet, it is designed and engineered for sitting. Squatting is unglamorous and unsanitary. If we follow the correct practice, there will be no splashes, no soils & shoemarks on the seat, and no smears on the side because the product will fall properly in the right place”

Try living in a dorm and having to live with that stuff every. single. solitary. day. (minus the diapers) Having my own bathroom is what I look forward to most after graduating…that and not having a roommate.
I realy like this list! I often ask myself what some people think when they use a toilet especially at work. Weh should print them out and put them at every toiletwall.
I definitely agree with all of these! Sooooo gross! I don’t understand why this even happens, why these are so common, who actually doesn’t mind this stuff?!
