Tis the season to be bright with a Giveaway
I went back to work last week and one of the first things I noticed when I walked in was their Christmas decorations. I couldn’t help but smile, looking at all those colors. The holiday season is already upon us and this time of year always gets me to reflect upon everything I’m grateful for. It’s this gratefulness that always makes my season bright.
Every since I was a kid, I always looked forward to Christmas because my Parents took us to my Grandparents and I got to spend it with all my cousins. Now, I get to see the same joy in my children’s eyes. I love the excitement and anticipation that my oldest son has as the holiday season gets closer.
The holiday season represents more time with my family and that always makes my season bright. It is definitely one of the best parts of the holiday for me.

When we were first married, space was cramped and money was tight. We wanted to build traditions, so we wanted a Christmas tree. We were only able to find a Charlie Brown-ish tree in our price range, but we decorated it as if it were the most beautiful tree. Today, we continue the tradition of purchasing a small tree. It has really been helpful since we have a curious toddler at the moment, and we leave the tree on a small table in our house beyond reach of tiny hands
what makes my season brighter is my children..
a perm job.. i work as needed and im not needed as much.. its been a tough year. at least i have a good family. that helps.
I try and do as much as I can with my nieces and nephews. They are so in awe of the trees , the lights and the magic of the season. They love going downtown and eating with Santa.

We will start Thanksgiving by making a daisy chain for the Christmas tree. My kids are so excited. I’m sure it will be quite colorful and bright.

I enjoy decorating the house and especially the tree, since each ornament has a story. Unfortunately we live too far away to spend time with our family, but we have fun sending them gifts and cards.

I start making homemade decorations. I’ve already made over 40 porcelain clay snowmen and painted them to hang on the tree. My theme this year is snowmen/snowpeople, so I’m going to be doing more snowmen that actually sit on shelves and such too. I’ll be making snowmen hang gift tags, and painting gift boxes with snowmen themed landscapes and such to give gifts in.

We live (happily) on a very limited budget, so our holidays are not very extravagant. The one thing that makes our season brightest is being able to give to others to help their season be bright, even if sometimes that giving is limited to a couple of cans for the food drive. You never feel down when you reach a hand out to help others.

I bake cookies and apple pie and the smells that emanate from this give me my Christmas Spirit.
I make cookies for everyone I know.
I really struggle not to pull out all of the Christmas stuff the day after Halloween. On the day after Thanksgiving I shoo my husband out the door to hang the Christmas lights. I then get busy decorating the fireplace, the tops of all of the cabinets, and every other flat surface in the house. I then break out all of the baking supplies and our house becomes cookie central with Christmas music going in the background. The smells of Christmas are just as important as all of the glitz and sparkle this time of year.

We spend lots of time with our family. My youngest cried her little heart out when we left Thanksgiving dinner because she had to stop playing with her cousins. I’ve also decided to make the season more about the whole meaning of Christmas. Money is very tight and I don’t know how we’re going to buy Christmas gifts for our girls. I’ve let them know that Santa won’t be able to bring them as much this year because even he has to buy some gifts and money is tight. I want them to understand that it’s more than just presents. thank you!
I listen to Christmas music most of the day and I keep a positive attitude.

To make my season bright, I put up alot of decorations inside and outside!
This year to make the holiday season bright, we are surprising the kids with an overnight at the same hotel their cousins will be staying at over the holidays. It will be like a mini vacation for them.
I’m doing lots of baking!!! And thinking about what I’m going to make for our big Christmas dinner!!
The Xmas lights make it bright and cheerfull, inside my apt. it is such a niuce feeling.

Try to give of myself..I heard something on the radio requesting people who could volunteer, and I plan to look into it.

When I’m ready to get into the Holiday mood, I put on a good rendition of O Holy Night and watch 1951′s A Christmas Carol. Please accept my entry. Thank you.
I’ve been making handmade ornaments and it’s really setting our whole family in such a great, festive mood!

I will be going away for a week after christmas with my husband. He works out of town and is gone through the week, so we finally get to have some time just for us.
Spending time with my family baking, singin carols or watching Christmas movies always makes the holiday bright for me.
To make our holiday season bright I just want to enjoy spending time w. friends and family who I don’t get to see very often. Gift-giving is fun and all, but the true time together is where the memories come in and are created!

My holidays will be bright because the family will be together and we will celebrate all the holidays this season with cookies and even a few cocktails!
I will focus more on family and less on “everyone else!”
stringing lights everywhere inside and out!
My holidays will be bright as I will be with family
We usually drive around and look at all the tons of christmas lights and displays that the people in our town decorate their homes with.
This year our daughter turns 18 on 1/2/2010 and she is also a senior in high school so we are trying to plan a special day for her. Also we MIGHT be having our oldest daughter and grandson come and visit the week before xmas so we are trying to figure out how to take him and our 13 year old to disney because my grandson has on his list to santa that he wants to go to disney world which is only 40 minutes from our house which saves us money on transportation its just coming up with the money for tickets, our daughter was just complaining that she missed out on the disney free day on your birthday as it started after her birthday and ends before her birthday.
Thank you so much for giving me a chance to be a winner

We are planning on baking and decorating gingerbread men this year for us and for some neighbors. The boys are looking forward to it, they helped make a list of who we can brighten the season with the gift of these cookies and ejoyed helping pick up what we needed at the grocery store. Involving them in all phases will help them appreciate what goes into something like this when they get such a gift and the best gift of all, the gift of service and giving something you’ve made yourself.
i will be going on a boat tour of newport harbor to see all the extravagantly decorated mansions!

i’ll leave the lights on
To make my season bright, my husband and I are putting together several things for our 3 boys to help us do to make others’ season bright. We are baking cookies to take to some of our elderly neighbors, we are sending some packages to people with cancer through SpiritJump.org, etc. Nothing could make the season brighter than seeing my boys really “get” the idea of giving and showing love to others!

To keep the season bright, I have gone over board on the decorations. It’s fun and uplifting.
I love wrapping gifts for friends and family in all the bright and shiny wrapping, giftbags, bows and ribbons. That always helps make my season bright
I do nice things for everyone to keep their spirits bright.
My favorite things are decorating the Christmas tree, putting up the lights on the house (actually, watching DH put the lights up on the house!), and Christmas music.
Thanks for the chance to win!
I decorated the house and we always donate to The Salvation Army or United Way. We also are donating a LOAD of cans this year!

Spending time with family always makes the day seem brighter.
Our family tradition –we make a Christmas basket full of baked goods, and Christmas treasures and go out on Christmas eve as a family and deliver it to a stranger along with a card explaining our Christmas tradition and our hope that if they are ever able to help us continue the tradition.
I am planning on spending time with the less fortunate-and hoping to find the real Christmas spirit this year.
I will not stress this year and spend time enjoying myself.

Even though the December holidays are stressful, I always try to stay focused on family – that usually means baking and ‘special’ gift wrapping…it’s surprising how lovely an inexpensive gift can look if you really take the time to wrap it creatively.
We attend the local annual holiday lights festival
I will try to keep it simple…not go overboard with shopping, not over-extend myself, just enjoy the simple things of the season.

Spending time with my family!
I love cutting off the tv and turning on some chritsmas music. Nothing makes the season bright as hearing christmas music all through the house while making christmas cookies.
To make our Holiday Season Bright… we burn lots of candles…
We’ll decorate the house of course, cook some good food, take some time off and not get involved in all the holiday madness (no crazy gift hunting this year – phew!!).
I was hoping one of the ladies I have met would want to start a relationship and share the hoildays together,, so far no offers,,,so I am prepared to sit back and relax and just enjoy as much as possible!
I get stressed around the holidays because I do not manage my time well and this puts a pall on the holidays for me sometimes. I’m going to make sure I have balance.
