Orggit – Online Document Management System and Solution
In a typical day, I must enter dozens of passwords, account information, banking information etc… How do I track all this information? I definitely do not rely on my memory because I wouldn’t get too far. I had my own version of a document management system. It involved a lot of papers. In fact, in passwords alone, there are 5 loose leaf sheets filled with them.
When I think about all the different types of organizers I have, from my filing cabinets, to my wallet, to my computer, my head starts to hurt.

Orggit.com is an online document management system that can store all of your information securely online. By using Orggit, you have no need to keep all those overflowing filing cabinets at home. Save the space for something else.

By subscribing to Orggit, there are a variety of sections you can enter your information into:
- Wallet: Allows you to store all the digital records of the contents of your wallet. Have you ever lost your wallet and then scrambled to remember all the cards and accounts that you now have to call for a new card?
- Medical: Allows you to create complete medical histories for yourself and your family members. They make it easy to print out so you can carry it with you to the doctor’s office. Or better yet, have one of your child’s handy for the babysitter in case of an emergency.
- Accounts and Codes: If you think about it….really think about it, how many user ids and passwords have you created? I am not just talking about online, but the offline world as well. By keeping all your codes and passwords in one place, you’ll only need to ever remember one.
- Filing Cabinet: A lot of people I know have one in their home, where they store all their important information. The only problem is that after a number of months and even years, it starts to get cluttered. By keeping all your important files online, you save all those needless papers. You also can access this information from anywhere as long as you have access to the internet.
You might have the same question I had when I was looking over their site. What about security? What is the point of having the convenience of keeping all your information in one place, if it is going to be an easy access to others?
“All of Orggit’s servers are located behind a Firewall, and data communications use the highest-grade Extended Validation SSL Certificates from VeriSign. Client passwords, security questions, account numbers and phishing images are encrypted with AES 256 bit encryption – the same standard the National Security Agency of the US Government approved for top secret information.”
Another huge advantage is that Orggit backups your information every two hours. You don’t have to worry about losing all your information. When I was creating my account, I was pleased to see all the security questions I had to create in order to open an account. I got the feeling that security was one of Orggit’s priority.
If you are a big Mobile user, Orggit is available on your iPhone as well. They are also currently working on creating a mobile web application.
Currently, Orggit’s annual subscription fee is $49.99 which allows you to enter information for up to 10 users.
Orggit was generous to offer Conversations with Mom’s readers a 50% discount on a subscription. You can also try Orggit free for 14 days. Simply click on this Orggit link to access the discount.

This looks like a really cool tool Maria. I’ll tell you we have so much bureaucracy to take care of nowadays – it’s exhausting. Thanks for telling us about this will definitely check it out.
All the best,

OMG – I love Orggit!!! I think I want to go work there! I’ve been looking for months for a product like this. So many of the online document management systems are geared toward small – large businesses. This is just perfect since it already sets up my file cabinet logically (and lets me add to it as I see fit). And what a bonus to have the Wallet and Medical information! I’m starting to feel more relaxed because things are so much better organized. I’m terrible with knowing what to do with paper. It ends up getting stacked up and then thrown in a folder and never to be found again. I’m much better with technology and feel a lot better about filing my documents here. And to top it off — I can get to the documents/information anywhere I can get online! How great is that. (I don’t have an iPhone yet so I still have to use the computer) My wish list so far — There are just a few things that I wish it had that it doesn’t — I would like to be able to setup ‘reminders’ on documents. So, if I have to pay a bill or fax a document by ‘x’ I would like a little notification (workflow) system that would send me a reminder email. I’d also like to have more metadata to store with the documents. So if I’ve uploaded a bill — I might want to enter a little more information about that bill — If I paid it or not, how much it was, notes to myself if I spoke with someone at the company about the bill. Last feature I would like to see — the ability to integrate the desktop with the document upload process. Ex: Drag/drop your file into a folder and that folder is automatically polled every ‘x’ hours and automatically uploads whatever documents are in the folder to my Orggit account.
