Welcome to Friday Frustrations, a weekly blog carnival dedicated to getting things off our chests. If you would like to participate, grab the button and enter your Friday Frustrations link on Mr. Linky. You can write about several frustrations or just one. It’s up to you.

You don’t need to pick the same topic as I do.

In general, I’m the type of person that does not like to wait for things.  It’s the main reason why I don’t like shopping at places like WalMart where I know I’ll have to wait for 10 customers to pass in front of me on every cash line.

Yesterday, was especially frustrating.  My Dad was told at 6 a.m that he was going to get to come home.  He just had to wait for the Neurologist to give him the go ahead.  I got to the hospital at 9 a.m with my Mom, thinking that this was going to be the best birthday gift.

We waited for the doctor to come……

then kept waiting……

then kept waiting…..

and waiting….

Finally, at 14:00 in the afternoon, the neurologist came in.  He explained once again that one of his arteries leading to his brain was completely blocked but that there was nothing they could do about it.  His recommendation was just to avoid the risk factors that could lead to another stroke (stress, smoking, poor diet, cholestorol etc…).  That of course and to continue his medication.

He told my Dad that he was signing his release papers and that he should make sure to be followed regularly by his Doctor.  We were just to wait for his renewal prescription for Lipitor.

My Dad quickly got dressed and he was ready to get out the door anxious to leave after 5 days at the hospital.  While waiting for the neurologist to return, the resident neurologist came in and told us, “I know the other neurologist gave your Dad the o.k to be released, but I don’t agree.  He’s still going to go home today but the cardiologist simply has to sign off on it.  It shouldn’t be long.”

So we waited,

and waited

and waited.

Finally at 18:00, we got the cardiologist to sign off on his release.

So from 6:00 a.m till 6:00 p.m all we did was wait for two doctors to sign a piece of paper.

The good news is, my Dad is home.
