GRAB THE BUTTON CODE on the the sidebar
Welcome to Friday Frustrations, a weekly blog carnival dedicated to getting things off our chests. If you would like to participate, grab the button and enter your Friday Frustrations link on Mr. Linky. You can write about several frustrations or just one. It’s up to you.
You don’t need to pick the same topic as I do.
I was turning on the laptop to write my Friday Frustrations. I had the topic all picked out and was about to start typing when my husband gave me another topic to write about.
Honey, I love you but you are the topic of this week’s Friday Frustrations. It’s in good fun, I think.
My hubby is a great guy, husband and Father. But (yes, a but) there are times he can frustrate me a little. You know how the saying goes, “those you love the most are the one’s who frustrate you the most”.
We were getting ready to go out for supper. I got Jeffrey ready first, then I fed Tyler and got him ready. Once both my boys were dressed, I started getting dressed myself. My husband who was dressed for a while, since he only had to worry about himself, sat down and started watching T.V while waiting. Once I was ready, I approached my husband and asked him if he was ready to go. His answer, “I was ready a long time ago. I’ve been waiting for you.”
Why did this Frustrate me? It might have been that I was tired, or that we were running late. What I didn’t understand was if he was ready before me, why didn’t he help me with the kids. His answer when I asked him? I didn’t know you needed help.
I got over that and didn’t give it a second thought. We went out for supper and had a great time.
Now fast forward back to me opening the computer to write my post. I’m starting up my computer, when he asks me, “Can you brush Jeffrey’s teeth before he goes to bed? I just want to relax.” He says this as he’s passing the bathroom door.
(My inner thought) “Yes, and I don’t like to relax at all. I’m not busy right now.”
My reaction? A stare. I just stared for a few seconds. Hubby got up and started towards the bathroom to brush Jeffrey’s teeth. His reply, “Sorry, I know your tired too and busy right now”.
Thank you DH for paying attention.

I can very well relate to this. My husband can sometimes be very insensitive too.I think it frustrates us women because we have sharper instincts while men usually need to be told upfront what we really want them to do.I get a lot of “You didn’t tell me you needed help” from my husband. Good thing your hubby understood your stare.=)
Yeah, that drives me crazy, too. When I’m struggling to wrangle the kids and my husband doesn’t get it. I’ve learned to ask up front, because I have to.

sometimes husband’s can be like that:-) anyway, thanks for the comment about my son, he’s playing his harmomnica wihout thinking about notes or chords, he just play it back and forth and he thinks his good, very funny!

I’m not sure why men are so oblivious to what is going on around them. The same thing happens here quite often and it just blows my mind when my husband can’t see that I need help with something. I’m just not the kind to ask for help… but I’m getting better at it.

Men just don’t pay attention. My husband is like that too. Tonight I am trying to make supper and I know darn well her heard me get frustrated he just kept playing that stupid xbox game. Grrrr. Guess men think that we are Super Moms and can do it all with out a break.
The stare..the stare was PERFECT! I love it!!!
You had every right to be frustrated today.
I think every husband is equipped with the insensitivity gene! My hubby is like that sometimes too!! Ugh! Totally frustrating! I should give a stare a try sometime!!
