My 4 yr old son and I have a few things in common.   One of them is our love of cereal.  When My Blog Spark asked if I would be interested in reviewing the Honey Kix Cereal Pack, I knew I had to say yes.  I was more than happy when I received more than the coupon for the cereal.  Along with the coupon, I received a a honey jar, a set of cereal bowls, a container to take my cereal and milk on-the-go, and a handy cereal container to keep at home.

It was a cereal I had never tried before and I was curious if the commercial was right, “Kid Tested, Mother-Approved.”

In order for it to be given a positive review, it had to pass two tests; my nutrional value test and my son’s taste taste.  I always battle with my husband who comes home with Sugar laden cereals that taste great to my son but are filled with empty calories.

First it had to pass my test.

Nutrition Facts – 1.25 cups – 120 calories, 1 grams of fat, 0 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 0 milligrams of cholesterol, 230 milligrams of sodium, 70 milligrams of potassium, 28 grams of carbohydrates, 3 grams of fiber, 6 grams of sugar, 19 grams of other carbohydrates, 2 grams of protein, a whole lot of of vitamins and minerals.  Some of the vitamins and minerals include 50% of the recommended intake of both iron and Folic Acid.

O.K so it passed my test, so on to the taste test.

My son loved the sweet taste of Honey Kix and asked for a second bowl.  Even after supper, he asked if he could put a bit of the cereal in a bowl and eat it for desert.  So it was obviously a pass for him too.
