parent girl Whos the Real Parent Here?

Another edition of “Kids Say”

I guess my son is a great observer because he’s done a good job observing me parenting.  He practiced on me a few times yesterday.

I was in a rush when I was emptying the dishwasher so I put the last large cereal bowl on top of the small one.  Normally, the small bowls are obviously on top of the large ones.

Jeffrey:  (getting a bowl of cereal)  Who put the big bowl on top of the small bowl?

Me:  I did.  I was in a rush when I was emptying the dishwasher.

Jeffrey:  MaaaaaaMaaaa, It would have taken 2 extra seconds.

How could I argue that one.

Around two in the afternoon

Jeffrey:  Aren’t you going to work out today.

Me:  Not today, I’m a little tired.

Jeffrey:  You didn’t work out yesterday.  Play the Wii Fit so you could work out.

Me:  I have a lot of things to do today.  I’ll work out tomorrow.

Jeffrey:  When I’m tired, I still have to pick up my toys so you need to work out.

I was on the phone with the Director of Eastern Canada where I work.  He was the first person from work that I spoke to since I started my year long maternity leave 6 months ago.  Tyler woke up and was cooing and making it known that he was awake.  Since he wasn’t crying, I left him in his crib to finish my phone conversation.

Jeffrey:  Mama, Tyler is awake

Me: (just motioning with my hand for him to be quiet)

Jeffrey: ( 2 min. later)  Mama, Tyler is awake

Me:  Yes I know sweety but I’m on the phone so I’ll get him soon.

Jeffrey:  Mama, who’s more important, the phone or your baby?

He’s only four now, but I know I’ll be in for a whole lot of debates.
