48 Days to a Better Me – Day 28

It’s been 28 days since I’ve accepted Kelly McCausey from Momstalknetwork“s 48 day challenge.
I’ve had a crazy, crazy week but am happy to report that I’ve been sticking to my plan (mostly anyways).
To summarize my last challenge:
- Continue my work out routine at 3 times this week
- Donate to the MS Society of Canada
- Start a Project with Jeffrey that will ensure we spend “fun” time together for him
I’ve been sticking to my excercise routine 3 times per week but feel like I have to step it up. I still have 28 pounds to lose to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight, or to be able to at least fit into some of my regular clothing. I refuse to buy a whole new wardrobe but let me tell you, 28 pounds makes a difference. I haven’t been able to wear my wedding band since I was 6 months pregnant (back in July).
So I need to start moderating the junk that goes into my body. I eat way too much pasta, potatoes and bread. I definitely have to cut that down. I also need to stay away from McDonald’s and KFC for a while.
The obvious area of my body that I need to work out after giving birth are my abs. I found a video at YouTube that displays my typical workout on my abs. I embedded it here in case you are interested.
I also donated to the MS Society of Canada and will probably do so again in a few months.
Where I have been struggling is to think of a project to do with my son. I have been consciously spending more time with my son but not officially created a project. If you have any ideas, I am open for feedback.

Keep it up, you’re doing so well! There are lots of books at the library or bookstore that can help you with ideas of things to do with kids. You might try that!
What a wonderful challenge. I wish you the all the best! I bet it won’t take you too long to lose those extra pounds. Just don’t get into the same situation I did! Back in October I just started to lose some of the baby weight after having a baby in July 2007, then the following month I found out I was pregnant again. Now I’m going to have to start all over!

Keep it up- you can do it! You could try an elimination diet for a week (you can find one here:
http://www.livhealthy.tv/articles.php?action=view&articleID=elimination-diet
This will help with a few pounds and will help you with focusing on what you put into your body. (An elimination diet eliminated foods that are often irritable to the body e.g. processed foods, soy, dairy, wheat, red meat, alcohol, etc.)
How old is your son that you want to create a project with…. I couldn’t see it in the posts I explored.
As a follow-up to my last comment…. the elimination diet should not be done when you are nursing! (thanks for asking) Your body will detox and it will go into the breast milk.
As for a project for your son (although you’ve already wrapped up the challenge), some ideas for the future could be doing a clean-up in the neighbourhood for earth day…. or making mother’s day cards or easter cards to give out at a senior’s home in the centre.
They really are capable of more than we realize:)
I love challenges since I’ve started my own weight loss journey, really helps to keep it up and not forget about your dreams
