Saturday Review – Laugh Friendly Month

2009 laugh friendly pin
For most people, February symbolizes Valentine’s Day. But for Elizabeth & Elena at ee Publishing & Productions, February is Laugh Friendly Month. These sisters started the laugh-friendly company back in 2004, when they were shushed one too many times for laughing loud in public. (I love that)
When I first fell upon their website, I thought how great of an idea to create a company whose primary focus is to create laugh friendly attitudes. After all, laughter is so important in today’s world.
In order to celebrate laughter, they deemed February Laugh Friendly Month. When you donate $1 to the Nana Star Foundation, benefiting sick children and under-resourced schools, you’ll receive a fun 3″ pin that lets everyone know that YOU are laugh-friendly! You also get with your order the 2008 first ever commerative pin.
Nana Star Foundation: The Nana Star Foundation is dedicated to two main causes: helping make life easier for children attending under-resourced, inner-city schools and for terminally ill children.
A portion of all Nana Star product sales goes directly to the Foundation. In addition to donations to charitable and social action organizations, they routinely give Nana Star books and toys to schools, libraries, and hospitals throughout the country and around the world.
Nana Star Collection of Books and Toys: Winner of several awards including, Teacher’s Choice Award for the Family 2009, 2008 Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards, Dr. Toy Best Pick for 2008, The Toy Man Seal of Approval and more. The amazing start of the Nana Star Collection, founded by Elizabeth Sills and Elena Patrice, was created because they wanted to share their grandmother’s simple but poignant stories with the world.
What better way to celebrate your Grandmother’s memories. These books celebrate values such as kindness, generosity and compassion.
Each book introduces a new friend who helps Nana Star on her way by embodying a traditional virtue. All Nana Star books come with a companion storytime and sing-along CD.
Each story offers children the opportunity to become a member of Nana Star’s Little Twinkles Club when they find the mistake hidden in the text. Details available at NanaStar.com. So their books not only entertain and help build character but come with great value (sing-along CD and Little Twinkles Club).
When I first started looking into their company, I became amazed at all the positive work they have done for children. What better way to help children then give them the gift of imagination and introduce them to the power of words.
Make February a Laugh Friendly Month in your home too. Stop by Laugh Friendly today to learn more about their company, books and toys.
