I think it’s always a good practise to have a person that you can admire.  One that gives you motivation and helps you to strive to become a better person. 

Here is a list of the top 5 Men and top 5 Women for 2008.  It is based on a Gallup poll that was conducted in the United States.  There were asked who was the living person that they most admired and below are the results.

4.  Pope Benedict 2%

3.  John McCain 3%

2.  George Bush 5%

1.  Barack Obama 32% – no surprise here.  This man clearly proves what you can accomplish if you really want it, no matter what obstacles stand in your way.  No matter who you supported during the elections, you cannot take away this man’s achievements.

1.  Hilary Clinton 20%  Again no surprise here.  She has done a lot with her career.  She continues to climb high even though Obama beat her in the democratic race.

Here are my top 5 Most Admired People

5.  Angelina Jolie- For her humanitariun efforts and for putting family first.

4.  Oprah Winfrey – For all she’s accomplished and continues to accomplish.  In spite of her huge power and celebrity status, she still manages to keep it all together.  Not many “huge celebrities” can say that.

3.  Barack Obama – Not only the U.S but the world was pulling for this man to represent America and lead it out of a lot of it’s problems.  He has surmounted a ton of obstacles and proves that if you want something, you can achieve it, and achieve it as a country.  “Yes we can”. 

Tied for First – My parents -  For always putting your family first.  For coming into a country over 40 years ago with nothing in your pocket and raising six children with an unconditional love.
