The Weather
I went on vacation last week. What a week it was. Only rained twice – once for three days, once for four.
Crossing the border
While crossing the US-Mexican border on his bicycle, the man was stopped by a guard who pointed to two sacks the man had on his shoulders. “What’s in the bags?”, asked the guard.
“Sand,” said the cyclist.
“Get them off – we’ll take a look,” said the guard.
The Cyclist did as he was told, emptied the bags, and proving they contained nothing but sand, reloaded the bags, put them on his shoulders and continued across the border.
Two weeks later, the same thing happened. Again the guard demanded to see the two bags, which again contained nothing but sand. This went on every week for six months, until one day the cyclist with the sand bags failed to appear.
A few days later, the guard happened to meet the cyclist downtown. “Say friend, you sure had us crazy”, said the guard. “We knew you were smuggling something across the border. I won’t say a word – but what is it you were smuggling?” “Bicycles!”
Try to get some rest
A man had been driving all night and by morning was still far from his destination. He decided to stop at the next city he came to, and park somewhere quiet so he could get an hour or two of sleep. As luck would have it, the quiet place he chose happened to be on one of the city’s major jogging routes. No sooner had he settled back to snooze when there came a knocking on his window. He looked out and saw a jogger running in place.
“Yes?”
“Excuse me, sir,” the jogger said, “do you have the time?” The man looked at the car clock and answered, “8:15″. The jogger said thanks and left. The man settled back again, and was just dozing off when there was another knock on the window and another jogger.
“Excuse me, sir, do you have the time?”
“8:25!”
The jogger said thanks and left. Now the man could see other joggers passing by and he knew it was only a matter of time before another one disturbed him. To avoid the problem, he got out a pen and paper and put a sign in his window saying, “I do not know the time!” Once again he settled back to sleep. He was just dozing off when there was another knock on the window.
“Sir, sir? It’s 8:45!.”
Friday Frustrations: All Jumbled together
GRAB THE BUTTON CODE on the the sidebar
Welcome to Friday Frustrations, a weekly blog carnival dedicated to getting things off your chests whether big or small. If you would like to participate, grab the button and enter your Friday Frustrations link on Conversations with Moms Friday Frustrations Blog Hop. You can write about several frustrations or just one. It’s up to you.
You don’t need to pick the same topic as I do.
This week there really wasn’t one big frustrations, but a few little frustrations. So I decided to make a little list of frustrations.
It frustrated me when:
1. Jeffrey got an ear infection just 2 weeks after he had his last ear infection.
2. One of my employees called in that she wasn’t coming in because she partied too hard the night before and wanted to rest.
3. That I found a few fresh dents on my new car from parking at a shopping center.
Sex and the City 2 and Me
My younger sister texted me (her way of communicating) and asked me if I wanted to go see Sex and the City 2.
I wanted more to go out with my sisters so I was definitely in. To be honest, I had never seen an episode of the movie or even Sex and the City 1. I watched part 1 a few days before just so I wouldn’t be completely out of the loop.
On a scale from1 to 10, my fashionability is 1. I work in a mall known as one of the best fashion malls in the province, so I figured I would learn something.
End result: I went with my younger sister, her friend and my sister in law. I enjoyed the few hours out and it was a good mental break away.
My favorite part of Sex and the City 2 movie was a scene between Charlotte and Miranda. They were drinking and ” confessing ” about the hardships of being a mom. Every time they mentioned another point, they felt guilty about it so Miranda’s solution, “take another sip”.
I think I might start watching the show online.
Have Fun in Summer with Lay’s Chip Trips
I love Summer and everything about it. Taking long walks, watching the kids play in the park, going on field trips are only some of the few things I occupy my summer with. I know that there are tons of Winter activities as well, but I must admit that I’m mostly indoors throughout the winter.
The only drawback to Summer and participating in all those activities is that it can become very expensive. This Summer, Lay’s has the solution. All Summer long you can earn points that can be redeemed for all sorts of great activities. Each Lay’s chips bag contains a code. Simply enter the code online to accumulate points.
I can tell you now, I will be taking full advantage of this great system. I joined the Lay’s Chip Trips and will be sharing my adventures with you throughout the summer. At first I was a bit skeptical on what the savings would be, but I was pleasantly surprised.
What I love about this program is it’s simplicity. When you want to redeem your points, you have 6 choices to search from; by trip, keyword, city, postal code, province or points.
I’ve already taken advantage of a free kids meal at Boston Pizza. Some of the other adventures I play to make use of, and share with you:
- Buy One, Get One Free Admission at Super Aqua Club (waterslides)
- Stay 1 night, get the second off at 50% off ( Marriott Hotel)
- Buy One, Get One free AML cruise ( a day cruise )
- 2 for 1 at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival
and there will be more. You can redeem for coupons at restaurants, museums, hotels, fun parks and more.
I was lucky enough to be able to share an exclusive code that will give you 10 free points when you open your account. Simply use the code “CONVE-RSMOM” when you start a new account at Lays.ca and your Lay’s Chip Trip account will automatically be loaded with 10 bonus points. This code is only valid today, until May 31, 2010.
I will be looking forward to sharing all my adventures with you thanks to Lay’s Chip Trips.
I am participating in the Lay’s Chip Trips program by Mom Central on behalf of Frito Lay. I received Lay’s Chip Trip points and a gift card to offset my trip costs to facilitate this post. The opinions on this blog are my own.
